Vengeance – search engine style

14.04.2010 16:04:32

What would you do if you got slimed? Seek revenge, naturally. Yesterday, I noticed what was a cool way to seek retribution.

Click on that ad, and you go through to our friends’ tale of woe, of how they were deprived of their millions(aww, the poor dears).

That, though, is an interesting way to spread negative PR online. Of course, it does cost money. Besides, it isn’t going to help the advertiser get his money back. There is going to be no return on investment, even if it will hurt Fujairah.

I’d be curious to know, though, how long they’ll last – especially since they’ve no way of ‘measuring’ their returns(unless they’re counting on the unlikely scenario of Fujairah returning the cash they lost there).

Presumably, folks with millions to invest don’t quite mind putting in a smaller amount of money in these ads. But aint it easier to move on, and just invest their time and energy elsewhere?

This will, however, satiate the advertiser’s urge to cry foul. The digital equivalent, as it were, of standing outside a shop and screaming about their bad service to incoming customers.

What will make this situation more interesting, though, is if Fujairah gets back by launching a positive PR ad campaign in response to this. No such possibility, I’d guess. From what things appear to be, they don’t seem to care.
